More About Us...
My passion surrounds my family and my dogs. My husband is very supportive of integrating the German Shepherd dogs into our daily life, and helping me to train them and keep everyone fed and exercised. It is very much a group effort around here, as it takes a lot of time to properly care for this many dogs while taking care of our young and growing family.
We are a very active family, and enjoy taking the dogs hiking, biking, skijoring, backcountry alpine skiing, and running. We even take the occasional dog rafting with us, which is always a good time. All this is possible largely to the fact that we live in the beautiful alpine region of Eagle River, Alaska.
We have put a lot of time, effort, and money into building a clean, efficient space for the dogs to stay when they are not in the house with us. The style of kennel we built is a new concept and was modeled after the dog runs that Gun Dog House Doors Co. has started using. Their company was very helpful in brainstorming my concept for the new working German Shepherd dog runs, as they shared much of their experience from caring for labs in the cold winters of Minnesota.
The new raised floor dog runs work beautifully, as we have plowed through the coldest months of the winter (-20degrees), and haven't had any problems.
In addition to the main dog runs, we have 3 exercise yards for our German Shepherds and our working German Shepherd puppies to roam around in during the day as well as a dedicated office studio.
