How We Raise Puppies

Our GSD Kennel, Eagle River Alaska
I take great care in selecting a stud dog for each dam that I breed. I take as much care in how the puppies are raised.

Our puppies are raised in our home which is situated on pristine acres of Alaskan soil. Since the puppies are raised in our home they are surrounded by the everyday noises, sights and smells they will most likely be exposed to in their new home. The puppies are familiar with the sounds of our infant son, and are accustomed to the busy hands of a his toddler cousin.  I go through much effort to expose the new puppies to as many different people, included men, as I feel will benefit them.

I go through much effort to only use ecologically and biologically friendly antibacterial cleaning agents around the puppies.  I want to make sure I am giving each puppy their chance to "be all that they can be" without harsh chemicals damaging their maturing immunity, and  nervous system.

Each puppy is given individualized attention on a daily basis. This usually includes, but in no way is limited to, holding the puppy until it settles and is calm. I will have the potty training started, so when you get your new little puppy the housebreaking process should go smoothly.

How do I start the potty training?

One, I keep the puppies kennel CLEAN!
Two, I give the puppies a litter box filled with dirt to choose for their potty place.  Hopefully, the puppies will then be familiar with the feel of eliminating on dirt... and will transition smoothly to your household. I will start kennel training the puppies, and familiarizing them with car rides.  If the puppies are going to Schutzhund homes, I will start doing preliminary drive building exercises with the puppies.

This is a LOT of work. But it is my labor of love for both the puppies and their new owners.
