What is Schutzhund??
Schutzhund is a dogs sport that originated in Germany and was used
to evaluate a breed based on temperament and working ability.
Schutzhund originated as a valuable tool used to assess the dogs
that were being bred, and this in turn helped to maintain the high
standards for the breed.
The sport of Schutzhund, has become very popular throughout the
world, and has attracted teams of dog/handlers to compete with each
other in international events. The teams trial in three different
areas, obedience, tracking, and protection.

Although the sport is usually found to be dominated by the German
Shepherd, other breeds such as Rottweilers, Doberman Pinschers,
Belgium Shepherds, American Bulldogs, Boxers, Bouviers, and other
working breeds can be found excelling in a Schutzhund trial.
